Clear aligners are removable, custom-made plastic trays that move teeth in small, planned steps. At our Talavera Road practice in Macquarie Park we offer three aligner systems: Invisalign, Spark and Angel Aligner.
We don’t start with a brand. We start with an assessment of your teeth, bite and gums, then explain which systems suit your case, what each would cost and what the alternatives are, including traditional braces. Your first consultation is complimentary for all clear aligner systems.
All three systems use a series of clear trays, a digital treatment plan and regular reviews with your dentist. They differ in the tray material, the planning software and the manufacturer’s features.
| System | Manufacturer | Planning software | Fee range at our practice | Extra retainers (3 sets) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Invisalign | Align Technology (USA) | ClinCheck | $4,200 to $8,990 | $500 (Vivera) |
| Spark | Ormco (USA) | Spark Approver | $3,700 to $8,490 | $400 |
| Angel Aligner | Angelalign Technology (China) | iOrtho | $3,700 to $8,490 | $350 |
Fees depend on the complexity of your case and are confirmed in writing after your assessment.
Depending on your assessment, clear aligners may be used for:
Some bite problems are better treated with fixed braces, and complex cases may be referred to a specialist orthodontist. We’ll explain this at your consultation.
At North Ryde Dentistry, Spark and Angel Aligner treatment ranges from $3,700 to $8,490 and Invisalign from $4,200 to $8,990. Where your fee sits in that range depends on how many teeth need to move, how far, and how many aligners and refinements are needed.
Payment options are discussed at your assessment. If you have extras cover with orthodontic benefits, your health fund may contribute; we can give you the item numbers so you can check your rebate before you start.
For many cases more than one system would be suitable, and the choice can come down to fee, tray feel and your dentist’s planning preference. The clinical evidence comparing these brands directly is still limited, so we avoid claims that one is better for everyone. These guides go into more detail:
Clear aligner treatment is not suitable for everyone, and results vary between patients. Common effects include temporary tenderness when you start a new set, a slight lisp for the first few days and the need to remove the trays to eat and drink anything other than water. Treatment depends on wearing the aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day; if they are worn less, teeth may not track to plan and extra aligners or a longer treatment time may be needed. Some plans need small tooth-coloured attachments or gentle reshaping between teeth (interproximal reduction). Teeth can drift back after treatment if retainers are not worn as directed, and existing gum disease or decay must be treated first.
Any invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner. Read more about treatment risks.

At North Ryde Dentistry, Spark and Angel Aligner range from $3,700 to $8,490 and Invisalign from $4,200 to $8,990, depending on complexity. Your fee is confirmed in writing after your assessment.
