Giving You A Brighter Smile
Everyone would like to have whiter teeth and a fresher, more radiant smile. North Ryde Dentistry offers Zoom whitening. As a registered provider of Zoom we are able to provide a clinically effective way of whitening teeth in a short lunch break or even as a package to take home.
Typically, we would expect to improve the shade from between 5-7 shades.
Zoom is offered as an in chair whitening session or as a take home package for those pressed for time. Results for both procedure are comparable. We understand that our patients are sometimes busy so we strive to work around busy schedules.
What is the process of teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening involves placement of a medical grade whitening agent on the surface of clean teeth for a period of time over several cycles. This is either done at home or in chair
What Are Some Maintenance or Aftercare Techniques for Teeth Whitening?
Teeth whitening or bleaching is not intended for cleaning the teeth. You also have to be reminded that the teeth can get discoloured or stained again once they become exposed to the factors that originally caused them to get stained or discoloured.
Professional dentists recommend as aftercare for patients who have gone through the whitening or bleaching process the following: practising their daily oral hygiene which consists brushing at least twice daily and flossing. Rinsing with an antiseptic mouthwash daily is also highly recommended.
Does Teeth Whitening Work All the Time?
It is crucial to consult your dentist before you decide to have teeth whitening since this process doesn’t work on all types of teeth. Yellow teeth may be whitened but not much with brown teeth and with gray teeth, teeth whitening may not work at all. The procedure is also not effective on crowns, veneers, fillings, and caps. If the discolouration is caused by tooth injury or by medication, teeth whitening may not also work.
Will I Experience Side Effects after a Teeth Whitening Treatment?
There are some people who develop sensitivity when their teeth get exposed to whiteners. The sensitivity will only be temporary.
