What “No Gap” means
A “gap” is the difference between the fee for a dental service and the benefit your health fund pays. With a No Gap check-up, the practice accepts your fund’s benefit for the included items as full payment, so you pay nothing out of pocket for those items. Benefits depend on your fund, your level of extras cover, waiting periods and annual limits, so it is worth checking your policy before you visit.
What’s included in the new patient check-up and clean
- A comprehensive oral examination and consultation
- Two bitewing X-rays and one panoramic (OPG) X-ray, as needed
- A scale and clean
- A fluoride treatment
Your first appointment usually takes 45 to 60 minutes. Any further treatment is discussed and quoted before it is carried out.
Health funds
We have HICAPS on site, so eligible benefits can be claimed on the day. North Ryde Dentistry is a Westfund Provider of Choice. Members of other funds can still claim their benefit as usual; whether the visit is No Gap depends on what your fund pays for the included items.
